Nursery Information on Government Funding

• Government funding is for all children from 9 months and above as long as you meet the criteria set by the Government. Funding is allocated for the term after the child's birthday.

• Funding is term time only (38 weeks) and is spread over 52 weeks of the year unless you have a term time only space, all fees will be spread over 12 months.

  i.e. 30 hours funding per week x 38 weeks = 1140 hours for the whole year

  1140 hours divide by 52 weeks = 21.92 funded hours per week

• The nursery can only claim for a maximum of 10 funded hours a day, 5.5 funded hours in a morning or 4.5 funded hours in an afternoon.

Deadline date to claim funding for each term:

• Autumn term: September - December, you must claim before 31st August.
• Spring term: January - March, you must claim by 31st December.
• Summer term: April - July, you must claim by 31st March.

If you miss the above deadline for that term, then unfortunately there is nothing we can do to overturn that decision so full fees will still apply to the whole term.

• When you apply and meet the criteria for any Government funding, you will be given a code. This code remains the same until your child leaves to go to school. You must renew your code every 3 months and if you fail to do this then we cannot submit your application to Bexley Council, and full fees will still apply.
• You can claim funding over two settings, but you would need to inform us as soon as possible if you are looking to do this as each childcare setting may have a different funding offer.
